Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington the city where she was born, she had her first appearance as an actor on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at 11 years old, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 on the 24th of July 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian birthed New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won the Academy Award for best support actress. The role she played as the talkative and inquisitive girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the award. After an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish pianist. Flora McGrath is the daughter of the mute Scottish musician, who emigrated to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. Paquin played a minor role in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was just a young girl as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as a lead part in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was the character Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 film Amistad. The role she played was for teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). The actress played groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
